Serving Anne Arundel County

Outdoor Living Built for Life on the Water

From Annapolis and Severna Park to Edgewater, Davidsonville, and the shoreline towns of South County, Anne Arundel homeowners spend a lot of time outside. Outdoor Living Spaces designs and builds custom decks, patios, screened porches, and outdoor kitchens across the county. Our Huntingtown shop is a straight shot up Route 2, so South County is practically next door.

Local Since 2002We're the team behind Lawn Artists, which has served Southern Maryland since 2002. We know Anne Arundel's waterfront neighborhoods and what it takes to build near the Bay.
See It in 3D FirstEvery project starts with a custom 3D design, so you can walk through your new deck, patio, or kitchen before a single board is cut or a single paver is laid.

Where We Work

Serving All of Anne Arundel County

We work throughout Anne Arundel County, from Annapolis, Arnold, and Severna Park to South County communities like Edgewater, Davidsonville, Deale, and Shady Side.

Chesapeake Bay Critical Area

Building near the water? Anne Arundel has hundreds of miles of shoreline along the Bay and the Severn, South, West, and Rhode Rivers. Land within 1,000 feet of tidal water falls under Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay Critical Area rules, which limit how much new patio, walkway, and other hard surface can go in. We design around those limits from day one. Inside Annapolis city limits, permits go through the city instead of the county, and we handle both.

Good questions

Anne Arundel County FAQs

Have a question that is not here? Call us at 443-339-9801 or see our full FAQ.

Do I need a permit for a deck or patio in Anne Arundel County?

Most decks, and many porches, patios, and outdoor kitchens, need a permit. Waterfront lots often need Critical Area review too, and projects inside Annapolis city limits go through the city. We handle the paperwork either way.

What parts of Anne Arundel County do you serve?

All of it, including Annapolis, Edgewater, Davidsonville, Crofton, Severna Park, Arnold, Deale, Shady Side, Harwood, and Lothian.

Is Anne Arundel too far from your Huntingtown shop?

Not at all. South County is just up Route 2 from us, and Anne Arundel County is a core part of our service area.

How long will my project take?

That depends on the size of the project and how long permits take. You will get a clear schedule with your 3D design and estimate, before any work starts.
